Dreamy, Creamy Protein Porridge With Stewed Pears
Warm, delicious and energy reviving on a winter's morning.

Ingredients
- 0.5 cup rolled oats
- 1.25 cup almond milk
- 2 tablespoon Bare Whey or Vanilla & Coconut Plant Protein - Bare Whey Protein Isolate
- 5 pears
- 1 teaspoon vanilla powder or vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon rice malt syrup or honey
Directions
- Heat the milk in a small saucepan (or milkpan ideally) then add the oats
- Within a few minutes it will start to bubble and the oats should be ready. Add the vanilla and honey/rice malt syrup
- Turn off the heat then stir in the protein powder until fully combined
- Serve immediately with either stewed pears (below) or a nut and seed combo - try out crushed walnuts, pepitas, sunflower seeds, coconut flakes, mulberries, goji berries, a sprinkling of cinnamon and perhaps a drizzle of maple syrup or raw honey. Fresh fruit is always a winner as well, be inventive and discover new combos each time – there is no wrong answer.
- Wash, core and chop pears into smaller pieces
- Place the pears in a saucepan with 250ml of water, and cook on the stove on med-high heat
- Turn to medium and cook for 60 minutes
- Remove from heat and serve with porridge or even with yoghurt as dessert
